Running Hare is a spacious two bedroom cottage in the heart of Windermere in the beautiful English Lake District.
It was thoughtfully refurbished during 2017/18 with guests' comfort in mind.

The cottage is owned by Bruce and Danielle; and Danielle is available answer questions before and during your stay. We do not
live locally. However the booking agency, Cumbria Cottages, are based locally and have staff to hand if needed.
Bookings are currently taken through the agency, Cottages.com, also known locally as Cumbria Cottages.

CIRCULAR WALKS from RUNNING HARE
With this series of circular walks specially written for Running Hare guests, you can ditch the car to explore and enjoy the local scenery totally on foot. All have been tried and tested several times. Holehird walk and 'Follow the brook' coming soon. If you have feedback on any of the walks, please let Danielle know.
The walks are all printed and laminated for you to take with you, as well as being available from the links below.
Each walk has its own delightful features, and none are too demanding. School Knott is perfect as the closest walk when you want a short 1-1.5 hours amble out to a beautiful local hill with gorgeous views right on your doorstep.
** please note Orrest Head (1) is best approached from the town rather than through Common Wood as many paths are not accessible due to fallen trees during Storm Arwen in late 2021. (2) has a newly layed accessible route to the top. More info here **
